ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - GHYLL COURT RESIDENTIAL HOME
Ghyll Court, a family-owned and managed home where the owner lives on-site, was opened in 1955 and is one of the longest established private Residential Homes in the area. It is home to 14 individuals who are part of a warm, friendly, family environment where help and care is available at any time of the day or night.
We are registered with the CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection) as a Residential Care Home. As well as permanent placements, we offer convalescence and respite care for older individuals from the age of sixty five. Registered categories include Dementia/Old Age.
Ghyll Court feels like a real home. We have a pleasant lounge in an elevated position with large windows to two sides. Residents can chose if they prefer to eat in their own rooms or in the communal dining room.
We place great emphasis on creating and maintaining a family atmosphere at Ghyll Court.
Catering
We are conscious that mealtimes are looked forward to and therefore we provide residents with a nutritious menu which is rotated on a regular basis. The menus are designed to provide variety, using fresh ingredients sourced locally.
Traditional food is freshly prepared daily including baked items, bread and a wide selection of confectionary/cakes.
We are very aware of how important it can be for a resident to be able to continue to enjoy a food they have always liked. One of the advantages of a smaller residential home like Ghyll Court is our ability to cater for individual diets and preferences - for example, right down to the type and make/manufacturer of pie, yoghurt etc which an individual might prefer. Special diets and preferences are easily managed.
