ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WOODLANDS VIEW RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
Woodlands View is a bright and spacious home situated in the residential suburb of Poplars, approximately three miles from Stevenage town centre. Local shops are within walking distance and the home is conveniently on a local bus route.
The care we offer
This modern, purpose-built home has been designed and equipped to provide residential care for older people. The home specialises in nursing dementia care, palliative and convalescent care along with short stay respite. Our standards of care are second to none. We employ registered nurses and highly trained care assistants to provide 24-hour professional care and support.
Food
Meals are an important and enjoyable part of the day at Woodlands View, and our chef creates a wide range of tasty dishes, prepared daily using only fresh ingredients. All our menus are nutritionally balanced and our chef caters for all tastes and diets, visiting each resident soon after they arrive to discuss their preferences and any special requirements they may have. Residents can choose to eat in the home’s dining rooms or in the privacy of their own rooms if they prefer.
Activities
At Woodlands View we encourage residents to lead as full and active a lifestyle as possible and we offer a wide range of activities to suit all interests and levels of mobility. Our activity co-ordinator ensures there’s always something enjoyable to do – including reminiscence sessions, arts and crafts, manicures and hand massages, baking and gentle gardening. Residents have plenty of opportunity to pursue their hobbies and interests too.
We have a mobile library that regularly calls to the home and a hairdressing salon on site. Local entertainers regularly visit, our most popular being the sing-a-longs.
All our homes hold at least one special event every month to mark traditional days and events. These can involve everything from poetry readings on Burns night to festive celebrations on Christmas Day.
