ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MANOR VIEW
Manor View is a residential care home with a nursing requirement for eight people with learning disabilities, some of whom also have physical disabilities. The vision is to enable each resident to develop independence in decision-making and to develop relationships. For the residents this is their home and so the caring and experienced staff team aim to support them to live happy, healthy lives. It is a bright, welcoming home, reflecting the preferences and styles of all the residents living there.
Being a long-term home, the staff are able to build their understanding of the residents’ needs and preferences and work to meet those needs to provide high quality, person-centred support. The residents at Manor View have limited verbal communication skills or are non-verbal, but we believe that this should not hinder their ability to express themselves. All residents are encouraged to make decisions about their daily lives. Residents are supported to add personal touches to their rooms and to be involved in the decoration of the home.
The residents have complex medical needs and require high levels of care, but we still promote active, enjoyable lifestyles full of individual choice. We encourage involvement in the community and the development and maintenance of friendships and contact with families. Family members and friends are always welcome to visit.
All our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect and we are dedicated to providing top quality personal care tailored to the needs of each individual resident. This includes bathing, hair washing, toileting and changing incontinence pads, as well as PEG feeding, if required. The home is fitted with the most up-to-date equipment for administering personal care, including electric and manual hoists. Manor View is fully accessible for wheelchair users and all residents are encouraged to be as active as possible.
