ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE WOODLANDS
The Woodlands is a 6-bed care home facility that provides a specialist residential service for men with learning disability and complex co-morbid conditions such as personality disorder, mental health problems and forensic issues. The service is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of support workers.
The service at The Woodlands is designed for those individuals who require a high level of support and supervision in a community setting, often as part of a pathway when stepping down from low secure hospital or rehab care.
The aim of the service is to prepare individuals for living more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks, managing risk and developing robust coping strategies. Individuals living at The Woodlands are encouraged to lead a full and valued life.
The Woodlands is located centrally in Wolstanton, near Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire. The town has a number of excellent facilities and amenities with a wide range of cafes and shops, a historic market, a leisure centre and college to utilise. The town provides a relaxed local environment to enable patients to engage in their therapeutic programme.
The Woodlands is easily accessible by car from Stoke on Trent, Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham and has excellent public transport links.
