ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - YELDALL MANOR
Yeldall Manor is a CQC registered residential rehabilitation centre near Reading with over 30 years experience of helping men overcome drug and alcohol addictions. By identifying and addressing the issues causing addiction, residents are able to restructure their lives using healthier choices and enabled to return to the wider community equipped to live drug, alcohol and crime free lives.
Detoxification
Yeldall Manor runs a detoxification programme from drugs and alcohol, in partnership with our local pharmacy and managed by local doctors. This is part of the first stage of the rehabilitation programme.
Rehabilitation
Yeldall Manor's first stage programme is a structured three to six month programme that includes the following elements
High level of support
One-to-one counselling with a trained counsellor, looking at past and current issues as well as future planning
Teaching groups on life skills, attitudes, ethics, relationships and relapse prevention
Interactive groups, giving a chance to become responible and accountable
Work in the house or grounds
Training opportunities, which may include literacy, numeracy and IT
Recreation e.g. swimming, football, gym, shopping
An opportunity to join the Resettlement Programme living semi-independently on-site
Resettlement
The Lodge is an abstinence-based three to five month project, designed for those men who have already completed a first-stage programme and have been substance-free for at least three months. It provides a safe environment where newly acquired skills can be put into practice.
As well as one-to-one key working, interactive and teaching groups, this includes
Work experience placements within local businesses
Training opportunities in basic skills as well as personal and professional development
Support in finding work and housing
Community Aftercare Support
Following successful graduation, support is accessible for at least one year. This includes the opportunity to meet and spend time with a key worker and a counsellor.
