ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WENDOVER ROAD
87 Wendover Road is an adapted bungalow providing residential care for four people with learning disabilities. For the residents this is their home and so the caring and experienced staff team aim to support them to live happy, healthy lives in a safe environment. Being a long-term home, the staff are able to build their understanding of the residents’ needs and preferences and work to meet those needs to provide high quality, personalised support.
The residents at Wendover Road are not able to communicate verbally and can display challenging behaviours, but we believe that this should not hinder their ability to express themselves. All residents are encouraged and supported to add personal touches to their rooms and to make decisions about their daily lives, such as what clothes to wear or what foods to eat.
We aim to promote individual participation and choice at every opportunity, keeping the residents engaged and allowing them to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives. We encourage involvement in the community and the development and maintenance of relationships, friendships and contact with families. Family members and friends are always welcome to visit.
All our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect and we are dedicated to providing top quality personal care tailored to the needs of each individual resident. Wendover Road is fully accessible for wheelchair users and all residents are encouraged to be as active as possible around the home. We also value and promote equality and welcome diversity at Wendover Road.
