ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WELLESLEY LODGE RESIDENTIAL HOME
At Wellesley Lodge we aim to provide the best care for elderly with dementia in a comfortable, caring and safe environment. Our person-centred care approach ensures that residents are respected as an individual and treated with dignity. Our experienced members of staff know that developing an in-depth understanding of our dementia residents can create a better quality of life for them. All of our staff undertakes training in caring for people with dementia. We strive to ensure our service reflects best practice and learning in dementia care.
Following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission in February 2013 a report was received that in the current overall judgement of the inspector ‘Wellesley Lodge Residential Home was meeting all the essential standards of quality and safety”. Comments noted by the inspector when speaking to residents were: “Staff always respected their dignity and privacy. All of the people we spoke to told us that staff treated them with respect at all times”. “The food here is good, I can talk to staff about the meals and they would provide me with something different if I wanted it”. People said they lived in comfortable surroundings and the home was always very clean. People spoke very highly about staff attitude and commitment to working at the home: “I have no complaints about staff at all, they are all very nice, helpful and obliging”.
