ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WALNUT CLOSE
Walnut Close was purpose-built in 1983 as a local facility, in a quiet cul-de-sac off the main street within walking distance of Thatcham Town Centre.
The home provided care for frail older people; we have been providing care and support to people from the surrounding area for the past 30 years.
Walnut Close is a care home without nursing that offers a service for up to 35 older people. The home is divided into smaller units of 6-11 service users in each. The home has a specialist unit for people who are living with dementia.
Walnut Close aims to provide an environment where service users feel valued, safe and secure, and where they receive a high standard of care.
We use a person centred approach with a focus on the individual rather than on their condition, building on their strengths and abilities.
We aim to respect each service user’s privacy and dignity and offer support to encourage their independence wherever possible.
Service users are actively involved in their individual care plans, to encourage them to remain as independent as possible. We understand that living in one’s own home may be preferable, so we aim to create a homely atmosphere.
