ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - NEW OUTLOOK - TULIP GARDENS

Tulip Gardens is a purpose built bungalow with level access to an adjacent garden. It is situated in a pleasant residential area of Selly Oak; approximately two miles from Northfield town centre and conveniently near the Bristol Road South. Northfield provides a good range of facilities to meet the recreational, social and religious needs of the community. This service is fully accessible to people with restricted mobility or who use a wheelchair.
The accommodation comprises eight large single bedrooms, four on each "wing" of the building. Each bedroom is fitted with an alarm call system, hand basin and television socket. Each wing of the building contains a separate adapted bathroom/walk-in shower, w/c"s and laundry room. The décor makes good use of colour and texture contrasts, including tactile symbols and lighting.
A large lounge and separate dining room afford the residents spacious communal facilities and private areas to entertain visitors. A fully equipped sensory room enables residents to make full use of in-house relaxation and light therapy
An activity room provides individuals with art and craft equipment to support hobbies and includes adapted IT equipment with internet access and wii fit.
The accommodation is fully furnished and provides a homely environment. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furnishings and possessions and choose decor to personalise their room. A private telephone is available for resident use.
There is a sensory route all around the grounds. Established trees and many plants have been chosen for their scent, sound or feel, including the home namesake "Tulips".
