ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - TICKFORD ABBEY
Tickford Abbey is owned and operated by Greensleeves Homes Trust, a ‘not for profit’ charitable organisation providing care and accommodation for older people.
The home is a stunning late Victorian house, built on the site of a former medieval monastery on the outskirts of Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Accommodation is provided for 32 older ladies and gentlemen in this beautiful setting adjacent to the River Ouse. Tickford Abbey offers both residential and specialist dementia care.
On duty 24 hours a day, our dedicated multi-disciplined team, provides high quality care to meet individual resident’s requirements. As part of the home’s commitment to best practice, all staff receive ongoing training in every aspect of care.
The light and airy bedrooms are mostly en suite and offer beautiful views over the grounds and beyond. Each room is furnished to a high standard and residents are encouraged to bring in personal items such as pictures, ornaments and small items of furniture. With various lounges and quieter seating areas there is something for everyone. During the summer months the easily accessible grounds provide relaxing walks by the River Ouse.
A regular programme of activities is organised with fun and engaging pursuits provided daily and trips out to local places of interest We recognise that our residents have differing tastes and pleasures, and cater for each and every one as an individual. Strong ties with the local community ensures regular interesting visits to the home from a host of speakers and entertainers.
All food is freshly prepared to ensure dining is a real occasion, residents regularly update the menu with requests and ideas. A choice of delicious dishes is always available with all special dietary requirements catered for.
Tickford Abbey follows the Eden Alternative philosophy in the care of older people. All our residents’ views, choices and preferences contribute to the daily running of their home.
