ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE RUSSETS
The Russets provides accommodation for people who require nursing or personal care. Up to 73 people living with dementia live at The Russets, whilst a further 32 people with general nursing care needs reside in an adjacent separate care home called Sherwood.
Both The Russets and Sherwood are single storey bungalow-style buildings. The Russets is made up of five separate 'bungalows', each with either 13 or 15 rooms and central living, dining and socialising spaces. Each 'bungalow' offers easy access to the secure gardens at the centre of the care home.
Sherwood has it's own open plan dining room and lounges and each bedroom provides easy access to the gardens in the immediate area, as well as the rest of the gardens and grounds of Sandford Station retirement village.
