ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE ORCHARDS
The Orchards was commissioned in 1999 and is situated on the eastern side of Crewkerne town centre set off a private road in a residential area. More recently the home has undergone a rebuilding programme in which a new extension has been added to the Home.
We are registered to provide the following regulated activities: accommodation for people who require nursing or personal care; treatment of disease, disorder or injury; and diagnostic or screening procedures. A maximum of 45 older people can be accommodated at The Orchards.
Aims and Objectives: The Care Provided
The management and staff at the home endeavour to provide consistently high standards of professional care in order that residents who have chosen to live in our home can live as normally as possible, where their individuality, independence and dignity are respected and upheld. Where a resident lacks capacity, sometimes or always; the provision of the Mental Capacity Act, 2005, are adhered to at all times.
We aim to use our extensive experience to maximise the potential of each individual service user within a homely and friendly setting.
The home provides care for older people who, for physical, health, or social reasons are not able to care for themselves or be supported at home by family and professional carers. Nursing and social care are provided 24 hours a day and the home is fully equipped to cater for people with high dependency needs who may require end of life care.
We wish to provide the highest quality of care, and have worked towards and achieved in June 2008 the Investors in People Award. Following reassessment in June 2011 the Trust meets or exceeds all of the indicators of the Investors in People Standard.
