ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE LAURELS
The Laurels is registered to provide accommodation for a maximum of six people with a learning disability who need support with personal care. The home is not registered to provide nursing care.
We are uniquely focused on supporting those who have a range, of learning disabilities with wide experience of supporting those within the autistic spectrum range, physical and sensory needs, and personality disorder. We support each person as an individual and encourage independence empowering people to live happy and fulfilling lives within are local community. We value families to be fully involved with their loved ones care and support we provide holding regular meets.
We provide direct 1 to 1 and 2-1 support to individuals living at The Laurels. We work closely with outside organisations, such as Consultant Psychologist, Psychiatrist, district nurses. Social workers
For individuals, or family members, who are seeking care for themselves or their loved ones, we can help by working with you to develop a Person Centered Plan and then by sourcing appropriate care staff to meet those specific needs
Life at The Laurels
Each person who lives at The Laurels chooses how they want their own room decorated and what they want in it, they choose activities and are encouraged to assist with daily living skills, some of our residents have been supported into voluntary work placements and some have attend college and courses at our local Aspire Centre, each person is treated as an individual and are supported with this in mind, so some people like to do more fun activities such as swimming, bowling, eating out, walking along the nearby beach
At The Laurels we believe that family is the most important thing in anyone’s lives, That’s why we ensure that all occasions are celebrated and catered for, such as open buffets and BBQS for all family and friends to celebrate Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, fathers/mothers day, Easter to name but a few and excuse for a get together really!
