ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE LAURELS
The Laurels provides residential, nursing and physical disability care for older people. We provide modern facilities in a homely, comfortable atmosphere with warm and friendly staff.
We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.People can choose to take part in stimulating and engaging activities designed to boost their confidence and increase their independence. Our activity co-ordinators support and encourage people to become involved in activities such as card games, dominoes, reading sessions and crafts. We have entertainers and singers who attend regularly and visits from choirs and bands of local schools.We have fortnightly visits from a hairdresser, monthly religious services and regular visits from chiropodists, dentists, opticians and other professionals.
Residents enjoy regular trips out to have fish and chips for lunch and other popular outings include boat trips and bingo. We have strong links with the local community and our local councillor as well as representatives from nearby churches who often visit us. We enjoy hosting regular events that enable residents to spend time having fun with their friends and family at the home.
Meal times are an important part of the day at The Laurels. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of wholesome home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
