This delightful home is a listed country house set in extensive grounds near Bridport in the Dorset countryside.
The care we offer
The Hyde offers several types of stay depending on the level of support required - from long-term nursing care and respite. We provide care for elderly residents and people with a terminal illness. We also offer convalescence, palliative care, and care for people with Parkinson's disease.
Key features of The Hyde
This beautiful home – originally commissioned by Henry VIII - has restored Victorian gardens and a dining room with ornate wood panelling and rare gilded leather wallpaper. The Adam Room is elegantly furnished with magnificent bay windows looking across the grounds. Residents also enjoy a wide selection of balanced, wholesome meals from our daily menu and vegetables from the organic kitchen garden.
Bedrooms
The bedrooms are classically decorated and have sweeping views of the gardens. Most rooms have ensuite bathrooms and larger rooms may be able to accommodate two people.
Home life
Residents are invited to make full use of the home’s amenities and services, and everyone is welcome to participate in daily activities such as gardening, painting, bridge or croquet. There are also frequent trips to the theatre and concerts, and a courtesy car is available to provide weekly shopping trips to Bridport.
Gardens
The Hyde has large landscaped gardens with wheelchair access, a water feature and raised beds. There is also a delightful patio area for sitting out on sunny days. A residents’ summer house, croquet lawn, secret garden, and a relaxing sensory garden offer stimulation for all the senses.
