ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE HIGHGATE NURSING HOME
The Highgate is a purpose-built care home on the edge of Highgate village, one of London’s most exclusive residential areas. It has been thoughtfully designed to blend in with the architecture of the surrounding area and is a short walk from the shops and conveniently close to public transport routes.
The care we offer
The Highgate offers care for older people who require nursing, convalescence care, Parkinson’s disease or palliative care. We also offer respite and we provide nursing care for over18 year olds with physical disabilities.
Fitzwarren House, within the same grounds, offers a number of Bupa Assisted Living properties, which provide privacy and independence combined with the reassurance of help and company close at hand.
The Highgate has been further extended to offer high quality facilities for its residents, yet allowing them to enjoy a warm, safe environment with home comforts. A number of the rooms have private balconies with views over the beautiful gardens and across London. All of the upper floors can be accessed by lift.
Bedrooms
All rooms offer the privacy and convenience of en-suite facilities and are tastefully decorated, but to make their accommodation more homely residents are encouraged to bring in some of their own treasured possessions to personalise their space. Safety is paramount and all rooms are fitted with a smoke alarm and a 24-hour call system. Some rooms are also large enough to accommodate two people if required.
Home life
The home has five well furnished lounges and a sunny conservatory which overlooks the gardens and the terrace, both of which can be easily accessed by residents. The mature gardens are carefully landscaped with the needs of the residents in mind. There is decking underneath a large evergreen tree for those who seek the shade, and a sensory garden containing scented herbs and flowers as well as roses and colourful shrubs.
