ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE GLEN RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
A lovely old stone building in the tranquil setting of rural Somerset, The Glen is a welcoming and well equipped home, offering a wide range of care for older residents, and has recently undergone a substantial refurbishment.
The care we offer
We offer the highest quality of residential and nursing care, as well as convalescence, palliative care and respite. Our team are dedicated and highly trained to provide 24-hour care and support in a professional and respectful way.
Food
Our chef offers a tempting menu of appetising dishes, tailored to suit all tastes and requirements, and prepared to ensure the best balance of nutrition, flavour and presentation. The dining room offers a splendid view of the garden, but residents can eat in their own room if they prefer.
Activities
There's no shortage of daily activities at The Glen, from flower arranging to gentle exercise classes. A number of clubs allow residents to indulge their passions, be they art, bridge or cinema/movies, and trips to the local countryside or places of interest are always popular. We receive regular visits from entertainers, a mobile library and a hairdresser, who pampers residents in our on-site salon.
Every month there is a special event in the home that residents can get involved in, based on a different seasonal theme. They might include Burns Night suppers, Halloween and Summer fetes to name just a few, and friends and family are always welcome to join in.
