Set in quiet Cambridgeshire countryside, close to the village of Coates and a mile from Whittlesey. The Gables offers specialist residential and nursing dementia care in a peaceful and safe environment.
The care we offer
The Gables specialises in nursing and residential care. This is for individuals with dementia, as well as older people with long term mental illness. We also offer convalescence, palliative care and respite. Each resident has their own unique personal care plan covering their needs, preferences and tastes. Residents and relatives also complete a ‘Map of Life’ so nurses and carers can really get to know each resident individually, which helps in meeting their emotional, social and physical needs.
Key features of The Gables
Originally a private house, The Gables has been tastefully converted and extended. It provides all of the modern comforts needed to give first class care to elderly people. The home has been designed to suit the particular needs of its residents. With special colour schemes, sensory areas, and a range of activities to suit everyone's tastes.
Bedrooms
Our interior designer ensures that each bedroom is tastefully decorated. All rooms have ensuite facilities, telephone points and security features, while some enjoy delightful views of the garden. Residents are encouraged to bring some of their own favourite possessions and small items of furniture, to make their rooms as homely as possible.
Home life
Whether relaxing in one of the three comfortable, well furnished lounges or experiencing the sights and sounds of the sensory garden, residents will always enjoy the special atmosphere. Aside from our regular daily activities, we also provide a range of therapies, including aromatherapy and reminiscence. Family and friends are always most welcome to visit.
