The Elms enjoys a quiet location in the pleasant market town of Whittlesey, ten miles from Peterborough. The standard of care at the home has been given an ‘excellent’ rating by the Care Quality Commission.
The care we offer
This Bupa home offers an excellent standard of care, cleanliness and comfort. We provide nursing and residential care, convalescence and palliative care, as well as respite and specialist care for those who have had a stroke. We employ registered nurses and well-trained care assistants to provide professional 24-hour care and support in a respectful manner.
Key features of The Elms Residential and Nursing Home
Originally a large, private residence, The Elms has been tastefully extended and converted, while retaining many of its original features and homely atmosphere. With full lift access throughout and a high degree of comfort in both private and communal rooms, residents enjoy a very pleasant environment here.
Comfortable, well-furnished bedrooms
Bedrooms at The Elms have attractive, pastel décor and comfortable, traditional furnishings. All rooms are fitted with a smoke detector, thermostatic radiator and a 24-hour call system. Most rooms are en-suite, and have a delightful garden view. To make their rooms feel as much like home as possible, residents are encouraged to bring personal items such as favourite ornaments, pictures and small pieces of furniture.
A sociable home life
There are four well-furnished lounges in all, including a quiet lounge and a private visitors’ lounge. Occasionally, some of our group activities take place here, but they also provide a place where residents can chat, watch television, listen to the radio or simply spend some quiet time. On sunny days, residents can sit outdoors in the lovely landscaped grounds or in the enclosed courtyard garden if they prefer. Wheelchair paths offer access to these attractive, tree-filled gardens.
