ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE ACORNS
The Acorns is a detached home in a desirable estate in Crawley. We support five ladies with learning disabilities and additional needs. The staff team are also female and support each person in line with their needs and wishes.
The layout of The Acorns includes a large lounge, separate dining room and kitchen. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the home is decorated stylishly throughout.
At The Acorns each person is supported to develop their independence and expand their aspirations in life. The ladies who live at The Acorns are aged mid twenties to mid forties. They have a range of needs including cerebral palsy, Down’s Syndrome and epilepsy and the staff are experienced and well trained in these, and many other complimentary areas such as promoting positive communication.
The women who live at The Acorns enjoy a variety of pursuits, in particular swimming, trampolining and socialising. There is also a shared passion for the arts, crafts and cooking.
To the rear of the property there is a large decked area, perfect for social gatherings, barbeques and al fresco dining.
This home has a modern and vibrant atmosphere with a very positive attitude held by those who live in the home, the supporting staff team and manager. It provides a very encouraging and motivating environment for people wishing to develop their independence and personal skills and clearly demonstrates person centred approaches.
