hatcham Court is purpose-built for those with dementia. It is located in the centre of Thatcham, Berkshire, and has shops and a local bus service within walking distance.
The care we offer
We provide nursing dementia and residential dementia care, convalescence and palliative care and respite. We employ registered nurses and well-trained care assistants, who provide professional 24-hour care support with dedication, respect and understanding.

This new nursing home is specifically designed to care for those with dementia, and it has all the latest equipment and facilities. Located across three floors, each with its own bedrooms and comfortable, homely social areas, it provides a calm, safe and attractive environment.
Bedrooms
Each of the single bedrooms has en-suite facilities, under-floor heating, a smoke detector and 24-hour call system. Flat screen televisions with Freeview are fitted in every bedroom, and some ground-floor rooms have patio doors opening onto the pretty garden. There are memory boxes outside each bedroom that can be filled with the resident’s photos and other personal items to act as memory triggers.
Home life
Each floor at Thatcham Court has its own well-furnished, comfortable lounge and spacious dining area, as well as a dedicated quiet lounge. These are warm, welcoming and well-designed social areas where residents can relax, chat, watch satellite television or entertain guests. There is also a separate activities room and a hair salon for a little on-site pampering. All of the corridors have memory triggers, vibrant colours and themed, eye-catching pictures, all designed with the home's residents in mind.
