ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST WILLIAM'S RESIDENTIAL HOME
St William's is a small and welcoming home that is surrounded by mature landscaped grounds in a quiet residential area of Darlington.
The care we offer
St William’s provides residential care as well as convalescence, palliative care and respite. Our staff are highly trained in providing expert care. Each resident is looked after and supported with a focus on their individual needs and requirements.
Manager information
Jacqueline Elliott, our care home manager, is a registered nurse who has worked in South Africa as a staff nurse. She has vast experience of caring for the elderly and has attained a qualification in Understanding Dementia taken through Sunderland University and converted to RN level 1 at Teesside University in 2000.
Food
The chef at St William’s ensures that all residents' tastes and diets are catered for and an appetising range of meals is created every day. As well as full cooked meals that are nutritionally balanced, there is a range of light options and snacks available throughout the day. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are a daily occurrence with fresh fruit, home-made cakes and biscuits to tempt residents and their guests.
Activities
At St William’s our activity co-ordinator ensures there’s always something enjoyable and stimulating to do and residents are also encouraged to pursue their own personal interests and any longstanding hobbies.
Every month there is a special event for residents to look forward to and friends and relatives are also welcome to participate in our activities. In addition, a hairdresser visits our on-site salon regularly and a mobile library also calls to the home.
