ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST HELENS DOWN
St. Helens Down provides support for six adults with learning disabilities. The service is a bungalow located near Alexandra Park in Hastings.
This beautiful bungalow has an open plan lay out, all bedrooms are on the ground floor and three have en-suite facilities. There is also a separate wet room, bathroom and a portable hoist for use throughout the home.
The people living at this home are all over forty-five years and are an active group even those well into their eighties. They are mostly very verbally able individuals who enjoy interacting with each other, chatting and socialising. They have a variety of needs including mobility issues and visual impairments. This house is fully accessible and suitable for people who use wheelchairs.
An extensive decking area is enjoyed to the rear of the house, overlooking the accessible garden which has a really rural feel and spectacular views of rolling countryside. People living at St. Helens Down are actively supported in gardening projects.
There is a mix of men and women living at St. Helens Down, most go to local day centres on some days and at other times they enjoy community activities such as bingo.
