ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST CUTHBERTS

We offer the highest standard of care and access to a variety of services, activities and facilities designed to support people to increase their independence and enrich their lives.


St. Cuthbert’s provides residential and nursing care as well as support for older people with mental health problems, such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and dementia-based illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease.


We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.


Leisure and social activities play an important role at St. Cuthbert’s. Our activities co-ordinator arranges a variety of activities that people can choose to become involved with, both onsite and in the community. Residents particularly enjoy visiting community centres, schools and the church; we often go on other outings using our minibus.


At St. Cuthberts we encourage residents to continue doing the activities they have always enjoyed and we also encourage people to try other fun activities that will improve their quality of life. A hairdresser visits the home twice a week and we also have regular visits from chiropodists, opticians and dentists.


Meal times are an important part of the day at St. Cuthbert’s. Our experienced catering team prepare a varied menu of freshly cooked, nutritious meals. Menus vary from day-to-day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
