ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST ANNES' COMMUNITY SERVICES - THORNHILL ROAD
Thornhill Road is a seven bedded nursing home for people with a learning disability. The home is situated in a residential area of Rastrick, Calderdale, close to local community facilities and public transport links. As it is a nursing home there is always a registered nurse (learning disability) on duty. The home provides support for people 24hours a day 365 days a year. The home is a purpose built bungalow with 7 individual bedrooms, 2 lounges, 2 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, a conservatory and garden areas to front and rear. The home is equipped with specialist equipment including tracking, hoists and baths.
We aim to provide accommodation and support packages that meet peoples individual needs. This includes meeting peoples physical,psychological, social, cultural and health needs. Each person has an annual person centred plan to ensure they are fully supported in all areas of their lives.
We support people to live as independent and fulfilling life as possible by supporting people to make choices and decisions about what they do and the things that are important to them. People have a varied social life and do a variety of things that they enjoy including, Hydrotherapy, Rebound therapy (trampoline), Cinema, Theatre, day trips, shopping, pubs, eating out, bowling and going on holiday. Wherever people want to we also support them to develop or maintain family contact and relatives visit frequently and are always welcome.
