ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST ANNE'S COMMUNITY SERVICES - SMITHIES MOOR LANE
46 Smithies Moor Lane is a registered unit that offers accommodation and nursing care to adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities and other complex health care needs. The unit can accomodate up to six people.
Our aim is to provide accommodation that is a home rather than simply a house by providing a supportive environment with a fully trained staff team who ensure that people are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
We encourage and support people to make choices and decisions about their lives and provide person centred support to ensure each individuals dreams and aspirations are developed into reality wherever possible.
People are supported to lead active lives and to maintain and develop relationships with family and friends. The home has 2 vehicles, enabling clients to access community facilities and leisure activities. Different activities that people currently enjoy are hydrotherapy, shopping, dining out, cinema, parks, trampolining and day trips.
As we are a nursing home there is a Registered Nurse (Learning Disability trained) on duty 24 hours a day and there are also support assistants who are trained to meet the needs of the individual clients.
