ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST ANNE'S COMMUNITY SERVICES - NORFOLK ROAD
28 Norfolk Road is a 4 bedded semi-detached house in a quiet residential part of south Harrogate 10 mins walk from the town centre. The home offers 24 hour support to adults who have a learning disability. All clients have a private bedroom with a communal kitchen, 2 bathrooms, dining room, lounge and garden space. The service is registered with CQC to provide personal care to any client that requires this level of assistance.
The registered manager of the property has worked in care services for over 10 years and holds a level 4 NVQ in Management of Care Services and NVQ Level 3 in Promoting Independence. The Deputy Manager has worked in care for 20 years and holds NVQ Level 3 in Promoting Independence. There are a further 6 members of staff working in the home, 5 of whom have an NVQ 3 in Promoting Independence. All staff undergo a thorough vetting and induction process and attend regular training to update and increase their knowledge and skills. Staff support clients with daily living tasks, social and leisure activities, maintenance of health, finances and personal care as required.
Each client has a personal up to date support plan explaining how they wish to be assisted, and these are reviewed and updated regularly. All support plans, risk assessments etc are put together in a person centred way and clients are consulted at every step of the process. Clients are encouraged to make decisions in all aspects of their lives, including social activities, holidays, clothing, menu planning, decoration and choice of furniture within the home. Clients are able to access day services within the local community and are assisted and encouraged to undertake other activities further afield. The staff team also support clients to access other community facilities such as places of worship, shops, cafes, restaurants, sports centres, pubs, clubs etc.
