ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST ANNE'S COMMUNITY SERVICES - FERNLEA
Fernlea has seven beds that offers accomodation,care and tretament to adults aged 18-65 who have a learning disability and other complex health care needs. Referrals to the service are through health and social care organisations. The home is split into two sections. One section has three beds for people with learning disability and challenging behaviours and the other section has four beds offering accomodation for people with a learning disability and physical health needs.
Staff working in the home ensure that clients are always at the centre of everything that we do. The house has been purpose built on one level to enable access to all areas for clients.
Fernlea is a 2 sided integrated bungalow supporting those who challenge the service and those with complex health needs. Each side has 3 to 4 bedrooms, fittedwith a variety of adaptation's to meet peoples support needs including tracking aid and hoists. Each side also has a shower room, bathroom, kitchen, living area, and garden space. Each resident has their individual bedroom decorated to their own individual tastes. 2 bedrooms in the part of the service for people with complex health needs have direct access from their bedroom to the bathroom.
The staff team consists of nursing and support assistants providing 24 hour support. Each client has their own primary nurse and key worker who co- ordinate their care. Clients have access to community services and the service works with a variety of agencies to promote a multi disciplinary and holistic approach to care.
The home also has access to 2 vehicles which are adapted to ensure all clients can access community facilities.
