Skills Support is a family based organisation which supports adults to live their lives independently. We are regulated by the CQC and audited by the Authorities whom we are commissioned by. We also work privately with individuals and families.
We provide specialist support for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Aspergers, Mental health problems and Sensory Impairments. We support our customers to ensure that the Personal Assistant they choose has the relevent training, experience and personality to ensure that a long lasting, fulfilling relationship is formed built on trust and respect. All our Personal Assistants are police checked and referenced. Training needs are continually assessed and training provided where appropriate.
We pride ourselves on ensuring that the customer is able to have full choice and control over their support. The Personal Assistant they choose will then work with the customer to establish whether they are eligible to receive an individual budget from their Local Authority or the NHS. Personalised plans are put in place for each customer with their total cooperation and agreement so that the customer communicates exactly what they would like support with and how they want their Personal Assistant to facilitate this.
We are committed to ensuring that our customers make the most of every opportunity they have and will support them to learn new skills so that they can live their lives in the way they choose to. For example we can support people to learn new skills such as cooking or gardening, to look ater their home, to manage their budgets, finances and their individual health needs, to attend appointments, travel to college or work, visit friends and family and to make the most of their communities by visiting, theatres, cinema, sporting events or other recreational activities.
