Shared Lives is a scheme which provides respite care, and short and long term care and accommodation for adults with learning and physical disabilities. The scheme enables people to live in the community within a family environment. The scheme recruits, assesses, trains and supports carers in their own homes to provide the necessary support for the people who come to live with them.
