ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SANDERLING HOUSE
At Sanderling House we provide support to seven individuals with an acquired brain injury. We specialise at supporting individuals who may be experiencing dramatic lifestyle changes as a result of acquiring a brain injury. The service has particular experience of supporting those whose injury is related to alcohol or substance misuse.
The service is located in the popular residential area of Formby and is close to many local facilities, including shops, parks and leisure facilities.
We endeavour to enable people to regain an independent way of life and work with them to achieve their personal goals.
Staff will spend time with people waiting to move into the service at their current placements, making transition as smooth as possible.
We also employ sessional therapy staff who, alongside the staff team, assess the individuals’ needs and review therapy programmes on a monthly basis. These professionals, who include occupational therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists, also support the whole staff team to implement the strategies they have put in place.
Sanderling House has seven large bedrooms with spacious en-suite facilities. There are a number of communal rooms, including a lounge, a dining room and a quiet room.
All the rooms have been designed with the people who live here in mind, to create a holistic environment conducive to both relaxation and continued personal development.
The service has a large garden with a patio area.
