ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SALTSHOUSE HAVEN RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
This modern, well-equipped home is situated in a leafy part of Hull. It has been carefully designed to meet the needs of elderly residents, including those with dementia.
Saltshouse Haven has five separate lodges which make up it's care community. Each lodge is single storey and has attractive lounge areas, homely dining areas and a light and airy conservatory. The houses are also equipped with assisted bathrooms, shower rooms and a kitchen area as well as fitted furniture and a nurse call system as standard.
The care we offer
Providing a high level of care from highly trained nursing and care assistants, Saltshouse Haven's five purpose-built houses offer residential care, nursing care, residential dementia care, convalescence, palliative and respite care.
Food
We always discuss our residents’ preferences and any special dietary requirements they may have. Our experienced chef caters for all individual tastes, providing tasty, nutritionally balanced dishes. Residents can enjoy meals in the communal dining area or in the privacy of their own room if they prefer. Tea, coffee, delicious home-made cakes and biscuits are also served daily, for those special mid-morning and afternoon treats.
We are proud to have received a Hull Heartbeat Award for preparing and serving heart friendly food for the last 14 years.
Activities
We encourage residents to lead as full a life as possible. Our dedicated activity co-ordinator arranges a variety of interesting daily activities to suit all interests and abilities. Existing and new hobbies are encouraged, but also on offer are musical afternoons with piano accompaniment, bingo, gardening, games and film screenings. We also arrange frequent outings, and at least one themed seasonal event every month as part of our Big 12 calendar of activities. These might include activities such as arts and crafts and a celebration of the 'Best of British' along with other annual events like Mother's Day, Wimbledon or Bonfire Night.
