ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SABOURN COURT NURSING HOME
Sabourn Court is situated in a leafy and quiet residential location, convenient for shops in nearby Roundhay Road and the picturesque Roundhay Park in Leeds. The home is made up of two individual buildings, both offering high quality care.
The care we offer
We offer long and short term nursing care, care for those with Parkinson’s disease and also terminal or palliative care. Each resident has a personal care plan and our dedicated nurses provide 24 hour care based on individual needs and requirements. Our nurses are registered and they undertake continuous training to ensure residents’ needs are met and where possible exceeded.
Food
Before the arrival of a new residents, we go out of our way to understand their dietary requirements and preferences and our chef regularly seeks feedback from residents on menu choices. Mealtimes are an important part of the day, and our chef creates an extensive and varied menu that all residents can enjoy.
Special occasions, such as resident’s birthdays also present the opportunity to have a celebratory meal as well as giving the chef an excuse to create one of his delicious cakes.
Activities
There's plenty for everyone to enjoy at Sabourn Court including music, arts and crafts and quizzes. Green fingered residents enjoy some gentle gardening and growing herbs in the sensory garden, which are used in our daily menus. Outdoor activities such as dog shows, cadet marches and the annual summer fete are very popular. Residents can pursue their own existing hobbies and interests and join in with various group activities and clubs that are run at the home. Students from Roundhay Grammar school visit each week to join in activities with residents.
The dedicated activity co-ordinator at Sabourn Court is a trained beauty therapist and regularly incorporates her skills into activities in the home.
We also arrange seasonally-themed monthly events such as Halloween, Bonfire Night and Mother’s Day celebrations.
