ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - RYELANDS (MHA)
Ryelands was the first MHA care home for older people, opened in 1945. Since then, the home has been redeveloped and expanded several times. The brand new building, completed in 2004, was designed and finished to exceed the requirements of the 2000 Care Standards Act. It stands as an example of MHA’s commitment to maintaining existing properties to the highest standards.
Situated within beautifully landscaped grounds in the centre of Wallington, residents have easy access to many local attractions including the delightful RHS Wisley Gardens. Accommodating 46 residents on two floors, the home includes a dementia wing. This was named Brooklands in honour of one of the home’s oldest serving volunteers, Douglas Brooke, who had recently died. Together with Moorlands, a sheltered accommodation unit where flats are available to purchase, Ryelands and Brooklands now constitute one of MHA’s pioneering “mini villages”.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
