ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - RIVERS

Rivers is a spacious, detached property which offers residential accommodation for four adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disability/mental impairment and complex behaviours that require an intensive support service.

The service is located within easy reach of several towns, including Worksop and Rotherham.

The service’s aim is to support, stabilise and provide a pathway to other models of care within the existing resources of mental health care. Tailored transition programmes will be designed individually to reflect the specific needs of the individual. The service has access to a wide range of specialist staff, including a Behavioural Therapist.

Each person is encouraged to develop and experience a wide range of activities with full support. Local attractions include Langold Country Park, a 400 acre country park which spreads across to Yorkshire and offers the opportunity for fishing, water sports and walks though woodland and around the lake.

The environment has been designed to respond to the needs of people who challenge, whilst providing an environment that is warm and homely. 

There are four bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities with either a bath or a shower.

One room is on the ground floor and three are on the first floor. We encourage people to bring their own belongings and to decorate their rooms in the style the prefer.

Communal areas include a large dining room with French windows overlooking the garden, a conservatory, a fully-equipped sensory room and a large domestic scale kitchen, where people are supported to prepare meals and snacks. We also have a purpose designed games room where people are encouraged to socialise.
