ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - RISBY PARK NURSING HOME
Risby Park nursing home is owned and managed by The Partnership In Care Limited. It is registered for 54 beds and accommodates mostly older people over 65, but there are a number of younger adults using the service.
It has six beds reserved as 'winter beds' which are used by the hospital discharge team for people who require a limited period of rehabilitation, before returning home. The service provide the care, but are supported by a multi disciplinary team of professionals.
The home is situated in the attractive village of Risby, which is just three miles from the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds. Risby itself offers two antiques barns, a coffee shop and two public houses. Bury St Edmunds is an attractive town which boasts the cathedral and abbey gardens, there is also a twice weekly market.
Risby Park is a purpose built home for residents requiring nursing care. The home is staffed by freindly caring staff and features ensuite washing and lavatory facilities in the residents private rooms. The home also benefits from four lounges, a large dining room and a conservtaory overlooking the garden which includes a pond and raised flower beds. The pleasant gardens also have raised potting benches which can be accessed by wheelchairs.
The acommodation is over two floors the upstairs accessible by lifts. The residents can enjoy the facilities above or rest in their rooms should they wish, each room has a TV aerial point. The home also has bathing and showering facilities.
Risby Park has qualified nurses on duty throughout the 24 hour period supported by knowledgeable care staff many of whom have achieved NVQ's in Care.
Each resident is assessed prior to admission to ensure their individual needs can be met. Once admitted the resident can welcome visitors as they wish. The GP will not change unless coming from out of the area.
