ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - QUEENSMOUNT NURSING AND RESIDENTIAL HOME
Queensmount is set in a peaceful area close to the heart of Bournemouth, overlooking the golf course. It has recently been refurbished to the highest standards enhancing the comfort of the residents. All aspects of its care were rated ‘excellent’ on a recent Care Quality Commission inspection.
The care we offer Queensmount offers long and short stay care for individuals who require nursing or residential care. We provide convalescent care and specialist care for those who have physical disabilities or have had a stroke. We can also offer specialist care for people in need of palliative care.
Food There is a varied menu of delicious meals prepared from fresh produce. The chef makes a point of ensuring that the food served is not only nutritious but also to the taste of each resident. Residents’ particular preferences are assessed soon after they arrive.
Meals are served in our silver-service restaurant, but residents may choose to be served in the comfort and privacy of their own room if they prefer. Residents may order alcohol from our bar to accompany their meals if they wish. Snacks are available morning and afternoon and we offer a Night Bite service between 6.30pm and 6.30am providing a range of fresh and healthy snacks and hot or cold drinks.
Activities We encourage residents to lead as full and active a lifestyle as possible and our dedicated activity co-ordinator provides stimulating activities tailored to residents’ interests such as films, bowls, cake-baking or charades. We arrange parties and cabaret evenings which we usually hold in the dining room. Local singers and musicians often come in to entertain us, much to the resident’s enjoyment.
We also have a special monthly themed event to look forward. These could be seasonal celebrations or one of the many community events we get involved in.
