ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - PARKBROOK LODGE

Parkbrook Lodge is a spacious service which supports ten adults with learning disabilities. It is located near Rocester, a small picturesque village, with easy access to local amenities. It is only five minutes from the market town of Uttoxeter which has a railway station and the service is also on the local bus route.

Each individual is appointed a key worker who ensures an activity and skills building schedule is developed in line with their assessed needs and interests.

The people living at Parkbrook Lodge are encouraged to take pride in their environment and are supported to undertake domestic tasks. Everyone is encouraged to be involved in cooking meals. They are also involved in all menu planning, budgeting and the purchasing of the food.

The people who live here enjoy organising events, such as parties, barbecues and discos, and are encouraged to discuss activities they would like to participate in.

We access local colleges and a rural farm project to promote individual development, education and life skills.

Staff support people to take holidays and short breaks to destinations of their choice. The service has two vehicles, which are used for holidays and other activities. In addition to this, we encourage each individual to develop their independence through ‘travel training’, which includes using public transport.

The service has ten attractive bedrooms, each with a spacious en–suite shower room or bathroom. Complementing the bedrooms, there are communal rooms including a lounge, a dining room, a kitchen, an activity room and a conservatory, which leads to a large garden.
