ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - PARK AVENUE NURSING HOME
Overlooking Soldiers Field, close to the upmarket district of Roundhay in North Leeds, Park Avenue is an impressive private house, converted into a comfortable home for elderly residents.
The care we offer
We offer several types of stay depending on the level of support required – from long term care and nursing, to respite, convalescence and palliative care. We provide high levels of personal care to our residents through the expertise of our dedicated and professional registered nurses and care assistants.
Food
Park Avenue's highly trained catering team provides a varied menu of fresh, seasonal, balanced dishes. Every resident has their nutritional needs and preferences assessed shortly after they arrive, then our chef caters to those needs as part of the daily menu. Residents can choose to eat in their own room or in the social atmosphere of home's dining room, whichever they prefer. There is also tea and coffee served with biscuits in the morning, and with delicious home-made cake in the afternoon.
Activities
Regular activity is paramount to the welfare of residents, and the home ensures that group activities provide mental and physical stimulation and structure to the day. Sessions include crafts, games, painting, gardening, reminiscence therapy and trips to nearby Roundhay Park or other places of local interest. But spontaneous, individual activity is just as important such as walking in the garden, setting the table or helping to tidy up if they wish. There are also special social events to mark occasions such as Mother's Day and residents’ birthdays. Friend and relatives are always most welcome to join in.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard and most have ensuite facilities for residents' privacy and convenience. There are also safety features as standard including smoke detectors and 24-hour call systems. Some rooms are large enough to accommodate two people if required
