ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MILLFIELD NURSING AND RESIDENTIAL HOME
Millfield is situated in a residential suburb of Heywood, just four miles from Bury and Rochdale town centre. The home is conveniently located within walking distance of the local shops and is also on the main bus route into the town.
The care we offer Millfield is a purpose built, two storey home, offering several types of stay depending on the level of support required. We can offer short stay care including convalescence, palliative care and respite as well as excellent day care facilities. Longer term, we specialise in nursing and residential dementia care, general residential and nursing care and care for young physically disabled people.
We believe in offering a balance by providing support when it’s needed and helping residents maintain their independence – so we encourage each resident to lead a full and active lifestyle wherever possible.
Food
At Millfield, our chef creates tasty, seasonal menus each day, and always ensures that a hot and a cold choice is available. When new residents join us we aim to fully understand their nutritional needs, tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after their arrival.
Activities
Millfield residents enjoy a varied and entertaining social calendar. Our activity co-ordinator plans and runs new events and activities such as quizzes and sing-a-longs. A mobile library visits regularly and local entertainers and school children often perform. We always encourage residents to keep up with their existing hobbies and interests too, as well as developing new ones. There are also regular excursions to local places of interest such as Heywood Market and the many local parks.
