ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MERTON SHARED LIVES SCHEME
Merton Shared Lives Scheme is provided by the London Borough of Merton.
Shared Lives is a unique, flexible service helping people who need care or support to live independently and to take part in family and community lives of a Shared Lives carer. The Scheme is for adults, male and female, aged 18 years and over, with a learning disability, mental health issue, sensory impairment or physical disability
Shared Lives carers are individuals, couples and families who can provide care and support in their own homes or floating support in another property, this may be for a short break or somewhere to live for a longer period.
A Shared Lives carer and those that need support are matched by the scheme. Shared Lives cares give practical and emotional support, from accommodation to helping people take part in community activities, build relationships and develop independent living skills. It can help people make the step to living on their own.
