ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MARLBOROUGH HOUSE

Marlborough House supports up to nine people with mild learning disabilities to maintain or increase their independence and acquire practical day-to-day living skills. Our flexible, individually designed support packages mean that people can choose to have as much or as little support as they want. We also have four individual supported living flats next to the main home where people are supported to further increase their independence.


Marlborough House provides comprehensive and tailored support while also ensuring people have the opportunity to learn new skills and become more independent. We offer everyone the opportunity to build their confidence and skills and support people towards living more independently in their own home. 


We treat every individual with respect and dignity and actively encourage people to be involved with the running of and the decision making of their home. We support people to take part in an extensive range of leisure and recreational activities including swimming, bowling, horse riding and visits to London and Wembley. We host regular Wii competitions and we have a large arts and crafts room where people can become involved with a range of creative activities. We also have one-to-one sessions where we support people with reading and writing. The activities offered are very much based on the individual’s choice and interests.


Staff encourage individuals to plan their weekly menu and support them to prepare and cook their own meals.


We support people to maintain or increase their independence through trips out to nearby towns and cities as well as local amenities such as cinemas, shopping centres and restaurants.
