Low Laithes Village is a purpose-built residential service for 30 younger adults with complex needs, near Barnsley, South Yorkshire. People who live here benefit from the close proximity to the town centre and the nearby countryside.

Our mission is to enhance the lives of the people entrusted to our services by focusing on their individual needs, capabilities and aspirations. We aim to enable each person to maximise their potential and achieve a progressively more independent and higher quality of life.
Our philosophy
Our highly committed staff seek at all times to offer the best possible person-centred support in a positive and enriching residential environment, to all those who live at Low Laithes Village.
Our principal aim is for each person to develop increasing independence, through support and coaching in an environment that offers warmth, security, consistency and understanding. We seek to maintain a purposeful and calm atmosphere through the empathic and professional approach of staff. Trust and a positive rapport between the people living at Low Laithes Village and staff reflect the ethos of the village.
Staff and support
With around 160 members of staff, Low Laithes Village is one of the largest employers in the area. The recruitment process is thorough and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are made on all employees with opportunities for unsupervised contact with vulnerable people, before they join Hesley Group.
