ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - LANCASTRIA
At Lancastria we support six people with a learning disability and other complex needs, including autism, mental health needs and challenging behaviour.
Lancastria is a detached house in a suburb of Hartlepool, within walking distance of the town centre, local facilities and public transport. There are leisure centres, parks and recreation areas close by. We get involved with the wider community through local events.
The service has a warm, friendly atmosphere. Staff support everyone to build their independence, develop their daily living skills and have as much choice as possible, leading to the best outcome for each individual.
Everyone takes an active role within the service, making decisions and taking responsibility for their own rooms. Each person is involved in choices about menus and the décor of the service and can take part in interviews for new staff, if they wish.
Lancastria has three ground floor bedrooms and three upstairs bedrooms; the ground floor rooms are fully accessible and specifically designed for people using a wheelchair. The service has been designed with equipment to maintain support to people with high dependency, such as specialist baths and hoists, along with facilities to enable individuals to acquire new skills and become more independent. The service has a very large, mature private garden with patio areas.
