ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - KENT ADULT PLACEMENT SCHEME
The Adult Placement Scheme places vulnerable adults with Adult Placement Carers in local communities giving them the opportunity to be part of a family or household and other social networks.
The people supported by the Adult Placement Scheme are all vulnerable adults. They may have a learning or physical disability or may be an older person who wants to live in a homely environment, but cannot manage on their own.
For some it means they can continue to enjoy living with a family at a time when their own, for whatever reasons, can no longer manage to care for them. Adult Placements are tailored to the needs and requirements of the individual. It is flexible; enabling a wide range of people who need support to live more independent lives, promotes health and well being and is a positive alternative to residential care.
The Adult Placement Scheme recruits, assesses, approves and supports the individuals and families called Adult Placement Carers. Our carers are normal people with a caring nature, sensitivity and warmth, who get ongoing support, training and financial assistance from the Adult Placement Scheme to sustain a placement, or placements.
