ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - HILLVIEW NURSING HOME
Hill View is a modern, purpose-built home situated in large mature grounds in Dalmuir, a residential area of Clydebank.
The care we offer
Hill View provides an excellent standard of nursing care, nursing dementia care, convalescence, palliative care and respite. The home is divided into five houses, each offering its own specialism and facilities. Tower and Inanda Houses provide expert nursing care while Ravenswood House offers residential facilities. Uladh and Dalmuir Houses specialise in nursing dementia care. We also care for residents with Parkinson’s disease and for those who have experienced a stroke.
Food
Mealtimes are an important part of each day at Hill View. Our chef ensures there is a nutritionally balanced seasonal menu, with a hot and cold choice available and residents’ tastes are individually catered for. Delicious home-made cakes are served each day, and there is a Night Bite menu available between 6.30pm and 6.30am for those who need it.
We aim to fully understand new residents' nutritional needs, tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after their arrival. We check regularly that such needs are being met. We also encourage feedback so we can continue to improve our food service.
Activities
Our experienced activity co-ordinator (who was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2012 Scottish care Awards) creates a daily activities programme to ensure there are enjoyable and stimulating things to do. Some activities may be spontaneous - staff often sit with residents and chat about the weather or read the news. Others may be one-to-one activities such as jigsaws, crosswords and reminiscence, or group activities such as quizzes, bingo, film shows and music sessions. Local entertainers such as musicians and theatre groups also visit the home regularly to perform.
There is an organised reader group arranged in association with the Readers Organisation.
