ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - HIGH PEAK LODGE
High Peak Lodge provides nursing, palliative and respite care for older people. The home has a comfortable and homely environment and we focus on enabling people to maintain their independence and control over their lives.
We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.
Our activities co-ordinator organises a range of activities designed to maintain the independence of each person and enhance their quality of life. Activities which people can choose to be involved in include movement to music sessions, various board games, dominoes, flower arranging and arts and crafts.
Regular events are a major part of our social calendar and include church services, clothes parties, jewellery parties and various trips out to local garden centres, shopping centres and pub lunches.
Every six weeks a coffee morning is held at High Peak Lodge and attended by the people we support and their families. This is an opportunity for people to voice their opinions on a variety of subjects and discuss upcoming social events.
Meals times are an important part of the day at High Peak Lodge. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
