Harts House is a grand Georgian mansion situated in the leafy east London suburb of Woodford Green. The home is currently undergoing a refurbishment to provide the latest facilities.
The care we offer Harts House offers several types of stay including long-term nursing care, respite, palliative care, convalescence and post-operative care. We also specialise in care for those with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. We take training very seriously, and our carers have the highest NVQ achievement rate in the care sector.
About Harts House
Harts House is steeped in history. In 1617 the site belonged to Sir Humphrey Handforth, Master of the Wardrobe to King James. It has been recorded that King James stayed at Harts House when he went hunting in Epping Forest. In 1754, botanist Richard Warner planted the first gardenia in Europe in the grounds.
Food
The art deco dining room is the setting for sociable mealtimes, with a daily menu of delicious, nutritious dishes. Our chef will cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. A hot and cold choice is available at each meal, and home-made cakes served daily.
We aim to fully understand new residents' nutritional needs, tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after arrival, and we check regularly that such needs are being met. We also continually look for feedback so we can continue to improve our food service.
Activities
Our activity co-ordinator ensures there is always something going on that’s enjoyable and stimulating to do. We spend time with each resident soon after they arrive, to find out what they like doing, and offer activities to suit all interests and levels of mobility – everything from arts and crafts, flower arranging and gardening, to quizzes, music to movement and carpet bowls. We also encourage residents to pursue their own hobbies.
Musical entertainers frequently visit the home, as does a mobile library, and we have our own hairdressing salon where residents can enjoy a pamper.
