ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - HAMMERWICH HALL RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
The pretty village of Hammerwich, near Lichfield, provides the setting for this glorious 19th Century private house, which has been tastefully extended to provide a well-equipped home for elderly residents, including those with Parkinson's disease.
The care we offer
Alongside residential and nursing care, Hammerwich Hall also provides convalescence, respite and palliative care. We also care for a number of people aged 50-65 with physical disabilities, as well as residents who have had a stroke.
Food
At Hammerwich, making sure that residents enjoy seasonal, balanced and nutritious food is one of our priorities. Residents' personal preferences and dietary requirements are assessed shortly after they arrive and on an ongoing basis, to ensure that everyone's needs are continually being met. There's plenty to choose from daily, and residents can eat in the home's elegant dining room or in the privacy of their own room if they prefer. On their birthday, residents are invited to choose their favourite meal and enjoy a home-made birthday cake.
Activities
Daily activities at Hammerwich include sing-a-longs, WI events, pub lunches and theatre trips. Residents are also encouraged to stay active throughout the day, whether helping in the garden, playing cards or board games.
Events are arranged each month to celebrate special dates in the calendar, which might include Mother's Day, Burn's Night or Wimbledon celebrations.
