ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FREDA GUNTON LODGE RESIDENTIAL HOME
Freda Gunton Lodge Residential Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide care for up to 40 older people over the age of 65. It is not registered to admit people with dementia.
The Home stands in pleasant gardens in the centre of town and all rooms have en suite washbasins and toilets. There is a large communal lounge and a dining room, an activities room, a small lounge and a small dining room. We hope that the transition from 'home' to 'care home' is made with the least possible emotional upheaval and ideally a senior member of staff will have met people in their own home before admission.
Residents are encouraged to participate in social activities but at the same time, the need for privacy and the desire to be alone are respected fully. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.
We strive to ensure that the care at Freda Gunton Lodge is of the highest standard. On admission, the senior carer on duty will discuss the resident's needs with them and their relatives, so that an individualised plan of care can be agreed. This will be reviewed regularly and residents given a copy of their care plan if they wish.
